I write romantic sci-fi and dystopian tales where love shines through futures full of danger, worlds on the brink of transformation and high-stakes adventure.
My work blends emotional intensity, intellectual curiosity and the wonder of discovery. I am drawn to stories where hard science meets deep human connection, where encounters with the unknown reveal as much about humanity as they do about the stars, and where people are defined by the choices they make under pressure.
Inspired by writers such as Isaac Asimov and Adrian Tchaikovsky, and by stories including Ender’s Game, Arrival, Scythe and Red Rising, I create futures filled with mystery, moral tension, adventure, and characters worth caring about.
My current novel, When Auroras Touch Bali, begins in Bali in 2035. Wayan, an Indonesian environmental activist and karate champion, lives every day as though it might be her last. Rizky, a brilliant pacifist astrophysicist, understands the stars more easily than his own choices. She refuses to trust the future; he struggles to act before it is too late.
When an interstellar object approaches Earth, Mount Agung erupts and a mysterious mark appears on Wayan’s arm, their lives become entangled with the arrival of something far larger than either of them imagined. As Bali descends into chaos, they must learn to trust one another before their world—and perhaps the future of Earth—changes forever.
A Note on My Creative Process
Every Emery Sol story begins with my own ideas, characters, world-building and creative choices. I write and develop the original manuscript myself, then use editorial tools, including AI, to help refine clarity, rhythm and style. AI has also assisted with translation and some of the visual artwork.
Nothing is published automatically. I personally review, edit and approve every word, ensuring that the finished work remains true to my voice and creative vision.
My stories are human-conceived, human-directed and carefully human-edited. AI is used as a tool, never as the storyteller.
